About us

The Theatre of Dreams is a business that I started in 1993 as a way to put forth my imaginary vision using techniques and materials from the past.

I combined my fine art training and my love of antiques to construct whimsical paper gift items, optical toys, fantastical wire work, shadow puppets, paper theatres, letterpress goods, illustrated books, and fine art drawings.

​In the late nineties, I stumbled upon the secret town of Port Costa, California, hidden in the hills north of San Francisco. Here I was able to construct a real stage for my imaginary life. It includes a circa 1880's storefront for my shop and a letterpress studio and workshop next door.

If you'd like to visit in person, The Theatre of Dreams is open Saturdays from 11 AM - 5 PM, and for special events as announced.
